A statewide recruitment event for Florida teaching jobs will be held online this year.
The Great Florida Teach-In will be conducted this Wednesday via the Internet. Although the event is usually held in a large conference center, allowing teachers to be interviewed for vacancies on the spot, increasing costs and fewer vacancies has forced the event to go virtual.
Through the Web, teaching candidates and employers will be able to conduct real-time interviews by communicating via instant messaging, telephone and e-mail. Job seekers will be able to upload resumes, transcripts and teaching certificates, as well as download employer information. During its first 24 years, the even brought in about 2,000 job applicants.
