Florida Manufacturing Jobs Cut

One Tampa-based company is cutting Florida manufacturing jobs.

NuAir Manufacturing has announced its plan to cut 126 jobs through December of this year. The company recently filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification notice with the state of Florida, according to an article by Tampa Bay Business Journal.

As of September, Florida’s manufacturing industry employed 361,700 workers, down from 362,600 in August. This is a decrease of 5.8 percent from last year, according to the United States Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics. Some areas in the state have recently been taking measures to beef up the manufacturing workforce.
The state had a total non-farm employment of 7,899,000 during September, down from 7,909,900 in August and a decrease of 1.4 percent from last year. Florida has continued to lose jobs during the past few months.

NuAir, founded in 1946, specializes in window and door manufacturing. The company boasts business practices of quality, logistics, service, pricing and installation.A year ago, NuAir established a partnership with Pro-Build, a building materials supplier based in Atlanta. At that time the company said the move was intended to allow NuAir to focus on manufacturing.

“The decision to partner with Pro-Build was made with our valued customers in mind,” J. Scott Henderson, president of NuAir, said in a press release. “We strive for complete customer satisfaction with our products and services, and we believe the Pro-Build partnership will ensure that every installation of a NuAir product is done with care and craftsmanship.”

While NuAir specializes in window and door manufacturing, Pro-Build installs windows, exterior doors and sliding and interior trim packages and provides builders with a full line of building materials needed to complete a job.
