The Florida Educational Institute will commit $3.7 million in scholarhip money to fund career training for Haitian immigrants, many of which are working Florida hospitality jobs.
The funds are meant to assist the Haitian relief effort stemming from the disastrous earthquake last month.
There are 398 Haitian immigrants in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, Florida, who have been granted Temporary Protected Status (TPS) by President Barack Obama.
